Singing for Health

CTC music therapist Rebecca Sayers is leading a specialist singing group ‘Singing for lung health Cardiff’.   Sessions began in May 2016 and people from all over Cardiff have joined.  Anyone with a lung condition is welcome to come along.  Sessions are on Wednesdays 13.45 – 14.45 at Llandaff North Scout Hall, Belle Vue Crescent, Cardiff.

Research has shown that singing regularly as part of a group is beneficial for those with long term lung conditions.  Participants in specialist singing groups find that singing helps them to manage their symptoms better and that their breathing becomes easier.

Group member Karen says: ‘I think it’s brilliant.  My breathing has got easier already’.  Elizabeth says ‘I do feel that my breathing is better and I enjoy coming to the group and having fun’.
